Creation of the workers’ compensation curriculum for Vale Technical Institute,
Consulting on the creation of a medical only training unit to train new adjusters,
The creation of a skill gap assessment process leveraging the quality assurance results by claim professional,
Creation of a vendor-based CEU process to provide real time training for license renewals,
Collaborating with Strauss Institute at Pepperdine University to create a settlement program with over 250 claim professionals involved,
Presenting professional CEU content for CPCU and
Creation and implementation of a new claim handling methodology (including all training modules) based on operational changes to enhance employee claim results as well as loss savings.
Through his experience with The Hartford as the VP of WC Claims, the Zenith as SVP of National Claims, QBE as VP of WC Claims and two major TPA’s as the Technical SVP, his experience has been at a leadership level while also getting his hands into the claims themselves.
Steve obtained his Bachelors in business from Johnson State College in Vermont and his Masters in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. He has also attended a Harvard University based negotiation course, a Wharton School course of “Managing with Ambiguous Authority” and a Michigan State course on leadership.
Steve has also experienced a broad view of the industry by being involved in AIA, PCI, WCRI, CWCI and other groups that work to enhance our industry.
